Nicola Richmond has been a nurse for over 32 years and is now Director of Clinical Evidence and Health Economics for Ecolab Healthcare in the EMEA region. She is a member of both the Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP) and the Association of British Healthcare Industries (ABHI) Directors Board for Medical and Clinical Directors.
Since joining Ecolab in 2012, Nicola has served as Division Director for North Europe for Infection Prevention and Surgical, during which she worked two shifts per month in a UK emergency department to keep her qualification as a registered nurse (RGN).
Nicola trained at the Royal Free Hospital in London, becoming a registered nurse in 1985. She received her English National Board (ENB) qualifications in accident and emergency, and teaching and assessment in clinical practice. She worked in trauma nursing for decades with a special interest in pediatric resuscitation, adult trauma care, sudden death and bereavement in emergency care. With over 15 years of operating room experience, including brain stimulation and neurological surgery, spinal surgery and anesthetics, Nicola has also worked in several major inner-city London hospitals. Nicola received recognition for her bravery at serious road accident by the city of London police. She holds an MBA, as well as ABPI and CIM qualifications.
