Learning and Development

Knowledge and expertise are core to what we do. We believe that it’s essential to provide associates with continuous learning and development opportunities.

In 2025, our annual Ecolab Development Season marked a step change in enterprise learning through the launch of Ecolab Utopia, an immersive, game-based experience linking personal growth to purpose and customer impact. The season engaged nearly 20% of our associates worldwide and drove strong participation across safety actions, enterprise learning events and group programs, while expanding ERG membership by over 10%. Together, these efforts demonstrate how innovative learning design and purposeful action strengthen leadership, connection and enterprise impact.

In addition, Ecolab’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) – which are open to all associates – connect engaged, emerging leaders with professional and personal development opportunities. Our 12 employee-driven ERGs have grown to more than 10,900 members across 70+ countries.


Employee Engagement

We understand growing our business starts with growing our talent. Strong employee engagement is essential for both team and company growth. Ecolab continuously monitors the health of our talent and fosters an engaged workforce through ongoing listening initiatives. Alongside all-employee global surveys, we conduct periodic check-in surveys with targeted teams to gather insights into the experiences and needs of our workforce.

In April 2025, Ecolab conducted its annual, enterprise‑wide employee engagement survey using a new third‑party associate listening platform, achieving a consistently high global participation rate of 89%. Our overall engagement score – a measure of our associates’ emotional commitment to our organization and goals – was 7.7 out of 10, maintaining a high engagement score for Ecolab.

Leadership Development Programs

Ecolab’s global leadership development programs build leadership capability at every level and complement technical and functional training. Core programs include Manager Essentials, Leader Coach and Growth Leader, with annual goals to enroll all first line managers, onboard new leaders of managers and develop 100–130 high-potential leaders, respectively.

Performance Planning and Development

Ecolab’s global performance planning and development process equips associates and managers with tools to support continuous improvement and goal achievement. In addition to ongoing feedback and coaching, the annual performance review process evaluates past year results, how results were achieved and development objectives for the year ahead.

For the 2025 review cycle, 100% of eligible employees completed annual performance reviews.

he Disability Ability Wellbeing Network (DAWN) supports Ecolab’s growth by fostering an inclusive culture for employees of all abilities and those in caregiving roles.

DAWN’s mission is to promote awareness, shift mindsets and strengthen engagement through:
